Ensure you’re ready for BEPS
Our 2016 survey report sheds light on how multinational enterprises have prepared for BEPS measures worldwide and in the Asia-Pacific region.
The report details:
- How organisations are preparing for BEPS
- Top BEPS concerns among tax professionals
- Progress on implementing IT system changes
Approach to BEPS
What has best described your approach in responding to BEPS?
More organisations are preparing for BEPS, but many in the region still have work to do. Among all countries, the percentage of respondents who report proactively taking steps in responding to BEPS has increased by 12 percentage points year-over-year (54% to 66%). But in the Asia-Pacific region, that figure falls to 40%. One-third (33%) of Asia-Pacific respondents report waiting for other countries to implement.
Biggest BEPS Change
Which of the BEPS Actions has required the biggest change in your department?
83% of respondents report Transfer Pricing (documentation and country-by-country reporting) as the biggest change among all of the BEPS Actions — an increase of seven percentage points from 2015.
Tax Department Impact
How have these changes affected your department?
Based on the BEPS Action requiring the biggest change in their department, 86% of respondents are increasing their time spent on BEPS-related compliance. This includes the majority of both Europe (90%) and Latin America (93%). The U.S. lags the aggregate significantly (by 21 percentage points).
